Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account info: email address, full name, and (optionally) company name, trade, and state.
• License data: the license names, types, numbers, issuing authorities, and dates you choose to enter.
• Push subscriptions:when you opt in, the endpoint URL and cryptographic keys provided by your browser's push service.
• Billing info: handled by Stripe — we never see or store your credit card number. We only retain a Stripe customer ID.
• Operational logs: a record of when each reminder is sent, used solely to prevent duplicate notifications.

How we use your data

• To send you the email and push reminders you opted into;
• To bill you (via Stripe) and provide customer support;
• To improve the product (only aggregated, non-personal metrics);
• To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing outside CertBell.

Subprocessors

We use the following third-party services to operate CertBell:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication
• Vercel — application hosting and cron scheduling
• Stripe — subscription billing
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Browser push services — push notification delivery (Mozilla autopush, Apple Push, FCM, etc., depending on your browser)

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we erase your profile, licenses, push subscriptions, and notification logs within 30 days. Backups may retain data for up to 90 days before being overwritten.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can do most of this directly in the Settings page. For other requests, email privacy@certbell.com.

Security

We use industry-standard practices: encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, scoped access tokens, and Postgres row-level security to ensure each user can only see their own data. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.

Children

CertBell is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We'll post material changes here and notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
